Charter of Human Rights in Victoria
Online education program
We can be proud that Victoria has taken a leadership role in protecting and promoting human rights. Everyone working for a public authority has a part to play in embedding a human rights culture into our everyday work to ensure better outcomes for Victorian communities. If you are a VPS or local government staff member, you have obligations under the Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities. Human Rights are also a VPS value and component of a best practice Council Staff Code of Conduct, and there is an expectation that you understand the Charter as part of your role.
The Commission's new online education program, part of our broader Charter Education Program, will introduce you to the Charter and your obligations, and develop your awareness of the benefits of embedding a culture of human rights in your work.
